Beasley Forest Products, Inc. is the largest production hardwood sawmill in the United States, producing over 90 million board feet of lumber per year. Our extensive product mix includes, quality hardwood mat products, grade hardwood lumber, X-Ties, and pallet lumber. Our hardwood mat product line includes: crane mats, dragline mats, laminated mats, skids, and custom mats. Our hardwood grade lumber includes a large variety of Southern hardwood species including: red oak, white oak, poplar, cypress, and ash. We also produce a substantial amount of X-Ties and Switch Ties for the railroad industry. Our pallet products including cants, stringers, and cut stock of various widths and dimensions.
Since consistent quality production of hardwood mats and lumber requires a readily available supply of logs, Beasley Forest Products directly controls and personally harvests over 75% of the logs sewn in the mill. The remaining 25% is purchased from outside log suppliers. With an 14 member log procurement force and over 20 personal logging crews running state of the art equipment designed specifically for wet logging conditions, we are able to insure a consistent log flow into our mill year round.
A variety of transportation options are available to us including a railroad spur located directly on our facility. We are within 125 miles of three different port cities; Savannah, Georgia, Brunswick, Georgia, and Jacksonville, Florida which allows us to export our products worldwide. The fact that several large freight companies are located right here in Hazlehurst allows us to efficiently and economically fully serve the continental United States by truck.
